UAW Local 2195 Meeting Schedule For The Next Year

I hope everyone has enjoyed the Summer Break. It sure has been hot and humid. July is the hottest month on record, and it appears August is in the same category.

I'm requesting that everyone who is receiving this email please pass this information on to the 2195 Retiree members you have in your address book.  You can also print it and give them a copy.

Our Retiree Meetings are held the second Monday of each month, with the exception being July and August.  The starting time of our meetings is 11:00 am.

Our meetings are held at the American Legion Post 15 in Decatur, AL. Our next meeting will be:

September 14

October      12

November    9

December  14

January      11

February      8

March          8

April           12

May           10

June          14

I constantly run into retired members, and they ask, do you still have the retiree meetings. I informed them we have never stopped.

We will have several of our health care providers at our September meeting.

In the near future, you should receive a ballot in the mail for the upcoming election for the UAW International Executive Board Members.  You have to make sure your current address is correct with the International Union to receive a ballot.  You can contact the International Union's Info Systems Department: call 313-926-5000 and ask the operator to connect you to the Info-Systems Department.  If you prefer mailing a corrected address, mail to the International Union UAW c/o Info-Systems Dept., 8000 East Jefferson Ave.  Detroit, MI 48214.

You can also mail or call UAW Region 8 and ask the operator to connect you with the secretary who handles address changes. Phone number: 1-615-443-7654.  Mailing address: Region 8 UAW c/o Address Change, 151 Maddox-Simpson Parkway. Lebanon, TN 37090-5345.

A lot is going on in our Union and our Country. The next few months are going to be a challenge to see which direction we are going as a Country and a Union.

Many of our Delphi/GM Retirees remain with an open challenge to General Motors, denying them the same right as all the other retirees to receive the $500 annual Christmas Bonus.

I will send out one more communication before our September meeting.  If you have anything you would like me to post, please let me know so it can be reviewed.  I always leave my phone number. If you need to call.

In Solidarity
