January Retiree Meeting
Retiree Meeting
Monday, January 9 at 11:00 am
American Legion Post 15
Decatur, AL
HAPPY NEW YEAR
We will be discussing the changes in our Prescription Drug mail-ordering procedure. We need to identify any problems we are having. I have received several calls with different issues.
Hopefully, everyone has received their BCBS Medical Card with the RX at the bottom right.
The Mailer you should have received regarding the Prescription change-over has not been very clear to me. One important thing you have to inform Optum, what your method of payment is. You can call 1-855-0537-TTY 711 or you can go line and follow the instructions on the Mailer.
Due to the holidays, they may not be available until January 3rd.
This month you should see an increase in your Social Security ( 8.7 % cost of living increase). The amount of your increase may vary due to the year you turned 62 or went on Total & Permanent Disability.
As we discussed at the last retiree meeting, we will have a run-off election for two of the top (5) five International Executive Board positions.
President: Ray Curry is challenged by Shawn Fain who came in second place, you will be voting for one.
Vice President: Chuck Browning who came in 3rd place and was short on the majority vote. Time Bressler came in a distant 4th. You will be voting for one.
This is a very important election, please don't discard your ballot when you receive it. The ballots are scheduled to be mailed on January 12. If you have any doubt regarding your mailing address being correct with International Union UAW, you can call 313-926-5501 for an update.
The address for the UAW could be different than your address with our UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust.
Hope to see you at the meeting if you have questions, you can call me.
In Solidarity
