I hope everyone is doing well, and we hope you can make it to the next Retiree Meeting.

A couple of us will be attending our annual Regional 8 Conference.  The Conference will take place next week, and before our regular monthly meeting.    Most of you may know, this is our most important meeting of the year, and this is where we have the opportunity to interact with several of our International UAW Representatives.  We get updates regarding several important issues.  Some are related to our current and future benefits, and hopefully one will be the status of the $500 bonus that several of our members failed to receive. All of our benefits providers are normally at this meeting.  They provide helpful assistance if we need clarification on any of our benefits.

I hope everyone has gotten their OTC and put this terrific benefit to use.  It is saving many of our members a lot of money.

Our WEX benefit is proving to be an outstanding benefit for our members.  A majority are using theirs for Medicare Part B reimbursement. One thousand dollars per retiree is really a nice return.  Now, with all that is taking place in our economy, it is a much-welcome benefit.  Gas prices over $4. dollars in several areas, and if you are filling up with diesel, it is well over $5.  Groceries are at an all-time high, and now inflation has started on an upward spiral.  The sad part there doesn't appear to be an end insight.  Until Trump figures out how to end his War with Iran, this is projected to continue for an undetermined period. Let someone figure out how to end this bad situation and bring our soldiers home.
