May Retiree Meeting

Retiree Meeting Local 2195
Monday, May 13, 11:00 am
American Legion Post 15
6th Avenue, Decatur, AL

John and I attended the UAW Region 8 Retiree Conference at the end of April, we will be sharing the information we picked up at the meetings. That does include the ongoing discussion regarding the retirees who didn't receive the $500. bonus.

We will have our healthcare vendors at this upcoming meeting. If you have, Blue Cross or United Health Care you should be able to receive help with any issue you may have.

The Volkswagen workers in Chattanooga, TN voted to be represented by the UAW and they are now established as Local 42 UAW.  Their potential membership would be 4300 and they voted for UAW representation by an overwhelming margin of 73%.  We welcome them as a part of our UAW family of Sisters and Brothers in the labor movement and thank them for joining the continuous journey for workplace justice.

As most of you are aware we will have a covered-dish luncheon at this meeting.  We will be providing the meat, bread, and drinks.  We ask the members attending to bring a cover dish or dessert. We will provide pulled Pork for the meat.  We would ask that you bring a dish that compliments pulled Pork, for example, baked beans, col-slaw with or without mayo, corn, potato salad, macaroni/cheese, macaroni-salad, or any other favorite dish of your liking.

Hope you take time and come to the meeting where you will find good food and fellowship with many of your former co-workers/friends.

In Solidarity,

Chuck McDonald
