October Update

Two issues keep coming up:

Several retirees received two checks in the mail. These checks were for the stated reason that during Contract Negotiations employees that received an up front signing bonus for 1996, 1999, 2000 and/or 2003 were required to pay F.I.C.A. and Medicare taxes therefore there was a settlement made between General Motors/Delphi and the Federal Government that these bonuses were not "wages". If you received a check we suggest you cash and enjoy,

The other issue we receive calls regarding the letters from the UAW Medical Trust regarding the Medicare Advantage Supplement. You have an option to participate or not in this program. We believe it be a good supplemental program that may be beneficial to you. We would hope that you will attend the meetings that have been schedule and get answers to the many questions you may have. We will be discussing this further at the Oct. 8, Retiree Meeting.

We have our general clean-up day this WENDSEDAY Oct. 3 at 9:00 am. You are welcome to participate in the clean-up if you can fit it into your busy retiree schedule. If you can't we understand. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do what needs to be done in order to maintain a clean hall.

Once again our next scheduled RETIREE MEETING is October 8 at 11:00 am.
Hope to see everyone at the meeting.

On a sad note we were notified that Jerry Freeman, Brother to Bill Freeman our former Chairman of the Shop Committee, passed away yesterday. Jerry was only 52 years of age. We ask that you keep the Freeman family in your thoughts and prayers.

Please pass on this info to those Retirees that you know. We do not have email address for all and this is our only form of communication other than the meetings,

In solidarity.
Chuck McDonald
